Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day to you and your families!

I absolutely love this holiday, yes for my family …my husband and three beautiful girls ….we have fun every Valentines day!

We start of with a breakfast of  red, pink and white…every year it is a bit different – anything goes! Pink pancakes with whip cream and valentine sprinkles, pink or white yogurt with pretty valentines sprinkles, strawberry milk or juice, pink lady apples and today we added a new breakfast treat chocolate Babka bread!

After school snack…. we bring out more treats! a table set for a little tea party: red grapes, pink hot chocolate with whip cream of course! valentine gifts: chocolate hearts, treats and trinkets!

Then we come to the family dinner! This is quite funny, because as the girls have grown their taste has changed! We always have had pink spaghetti, pink garlic bread and some kind of sweet dessert! Very much a family tradition, but as the girls have grown now the requests had been pink spaghetti, but the addition of crab legs and rib eyes!

This is a fun way we have created a little family tradition! But the truth is I love my girls more than anything and want them to know they deserve a wonderful Valentines Day  – every year! They are beautiful, amazing ladies and as they grow up into young women, they will know that they deserve the best on this day! .  My favorite song right now that reminds me of my girls is the one by Loudon Wainwright  called “Daughter”  I hope you enjoy this song along with some of my favorite portraits of my girls -  I love these fun portraits we took this fall of the girls – fun hats, dresses & glasses!  You will all get to know them, as they are one of my favorite subjects to photograph!

Love my daughters!

Here are the lyrics and a link the youtube video – Daughters!

Everything she sees
she says she wants.
Everything she wants
I see she gets.

That’s my daughter in the water
everything she owns I bought her
Everything she owns.
That’s my daughter in the water,
everything she knows I taught her.
Everything she knows.

Everything I say
she takes to heart.
Everything she takes
she takes apart.

That’s my daughter in the water
every time she fell I caught her.
Every time she fell.
That’s my daughter in the water,
I lost every time I fought her.
Yea, I lost every time.

Every time she blinks
she strikes somebody blind.
Everything she thinks
blows her tiny mind.
That’s my daughter in the water,
who’d have ever thought her?
Who’d have ever thought?
That’s my daughter in the water,
I lost every time I fought her
Yea, I lost every time.
